Faculty of Health Sciences
The Faculty consists of over 20 well-equipped departments and clinics. Practical calsses for students are conducted in the largest hospitals and medical facilities in Warsaw, such as diabetology and oncology wards. The Faculty actively supports students-led educational initiatives, the organization of conferences and workshops, as well as scientific activities.
The Faculty offers the following degree programs:
- Dietetics – first-cycle full-time, 3 years; second-cycle full-time and part-time, 2 years – program in Polish
- Nursing – first-cycle full-time, 3 years; second-cycle full-time and part-time, 2 years – program in Polish
- Midwifery – first-cycle full-time, 3 years; second-cycle full-time and part-time, 2 years – program in Polish
- Emergency medicine – firs-cycle full-time, 3 years; second-cycle full-time, 2 years – program in Polish
- Public Health – firs-cyce full-time, 3 years; second-cycle full-time, 2 years, part-time, 1,5 years – program in Polish
Completing these programs at WUM guarantees top-tier Education that is in high demand among employers in both public and private healthcare institutions. It also brings prestige and trust.
All programs at the Faculty of Health Sciences are accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee, which confirms their high quality and the achievement of intended learning outcome: knowledge, skills and social competencies. Additionally, the Nursing and Midwifery programs hold accreditation from the Ministry of Health, granted following a positive opinion and accreditation from the National Accreditation Council for Schools of Nurses and Midwives.

Health is the ability of a biological system to acquire, convert, allocate, distribute, and utilize energy with maximum efficiency. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined human health in a broader sense in its 1948 constitution as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." This definition has been subject to controversy, in particular as lacking operational value, the ambiguity in developing cohesive health strategies and because of the problem created by use of the word "complete", which makes it practically impossible to achieve. Other definitions have been proposed, among which a recent definition that correlates health and personal satisfaction.
